Sheltered Housing Forum

With effect from July 2007 the Sheltered Housing Consultation Group became the Sheltered Housing Forum.

The Sheltered Housing Forum is well established with representatives from almost all of our sheltered schemes.

Meetings for the group are held on Mondays between 2.00 and 4.00 pm four times a year and taxis are provided to and from the meetings.

Ideally we need to have a group made up of representatives from all the Exeter City Council Sheltered Schemes. This is to ensure that the views of the group are truly representative and that everyone living in sheltered accommodation will have access to the group, through their representative.

The group is made up of two representatives from each scheme to allow for times when one or the other representatives are unable to attend.

The role of the group has become increasingly important, especially with the introduction of Supporting People.

The Sheltered Housing Forum has and will continue to have a major part to play in setting standards and monitoring Supporting People and sheltered housing services.

Service providers and commissioners will need to continue to consult service uses and it will be the Sheltered Housing Forum that will be consulted in relation to the service.

If your Sheltered Scheme is not represented and you would like to be involved or would like more information please contact Steve Deakin at the address shown or by phone, letter or email.
